Day1: Phoenix to Grand Canyon

Suba has been asking for these photos for a long time now, so here goes!

This is the start of our 2018 Phoenix → Grand Canyon → Las Vegas → Death Valley → Mammoth Lakes → Tahoe → San Francisco Road trip

Day 1 started with an early morning flight to Phoenix. We had a 12 passenger van rented, so we picked that up and started driving.

Our first stop along the way was at Montezuma Castle National monument. It was a Super hot sunny day, so we did our best to stay hydrated, and stay in the shade. But we still didnt last too long, and wanted to return to the air-conditioned comfort of our van.

After some dawdling in the gift shop, we boarded up and started driving again. With some rain and forest-fire smoke along the way, we took in the sights of Arizona out of our windows.

After making the turn up towards grand canyon from I-40, we decided to make a pit stop for coffee and snacks. It was starting to get cooler, so we had fun stretching our legs and taking some pictures and just hanging out.

After that, it was a short hour-long drive to our final stop at “The grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon”.

Pretty tired after the day of sun and driving, we decided to take a short stroll to a nearby mexican restaurant for dinner.
