A short hike in El Corte De Madera Creek open space preserve

The boys and I went on a short hike to El Corte De Madera Creek open space preserve. We had fun talking about random things, including comparisons of religions, surprisingly, and enjoyed a picnic lunch and snacks.

We spotted some Banana slugs on the way

The trail is known for a large “Tafoni” sandstone formation, so we made sure to check that out.

Our second destination was a scenic outlook, with views of the ocean. We stopped there for some snacks.

On the walk back to the car, Aarav entertained us by telling us the plots of all the “Babysitters Club” books, helping overcome some of Tejas’s tiredness / unhappiness about the length of the hike.

Although not the exact route, here’s a rough map of what we did.
