#UKVacation2019 We travel to Edinburgh and explore there for a day, with a brief stop at the Falkirk wheel

We were all sad to be leaving lovely Ballachulish, but our time there was up.

The plan for the day was to drive to Edinburgh, and make a stop at the Falkirk wheel on the way. In typical weather, it was pouring rain when we arrived at the wheel. There are ferries that take you up the wheel and on a short ride on the canal system that the wheel was built to support.

The wheel inspires some deep introspective thoughts

We enjoyed or ferry ride on the wheel, and since the rain had stopped, we enjoyed a nearby water play structure even more so.

After satisfying ourselves, we drove to edinburgh, checked into our hotel, and drove to “Ronaq Indian Restaurant” nearby for a lovely dinner.

The next day, after breakfast, we drove to Edinburgh Castle, to explore.

We eneded up losing half the crew after the morning, with Mahesh and the girls opting to return to the hotel. The rest of us enjoyed visits to the Great Hall, The national War memorial, seeing the royal jewels, and seeing war exhibits, that included descriptions and bounty taken from Mysore belonging to Tipu Sultan

After we had our fill of the castle, we decided to take a stroll down Castle hill towards High street. We took in our share of tourist sights, did some shopping, gawked at street performers, and enjoyed the lack of rain :)

We took a taxi back to the hotel, to regroup, before heading to dinner at an Indian restaurant.
