We visited NYC for Spring break

Gallery

A short 1 week trip to NYC for spring break this year. We were originally set to visit for Thanksgiving last year, but plans had to be resheduled.

We spent Sunday in Central park, meeting MK, Shan and their 2 kids - Sarah and Alisha.

Monday - We had tickets to a Harry Potter exhibition. Purni wanted to catch up with some work colleagues in the Chelsea neighborhood. After that meetup, we ended up walking on the “The High Line” to Chelsea Market and exploring there. We got to experience “Artechhouse” (A Peek customer that we kept hearing Purni talk about) and Ended the day with some Wagamama, while reminiscing our times in London.

Tuesday - A wet, cold and rainy day, we were insufficiently prepared to visit the Natural history museum (the lines were insane, and we hadnt bought tickets), we re-routed to the Guggenheim. But that was closed for the day for a private event, and so we ended up at the nearby Metropolitan Museum instead. We made the most of the day, and enjoyed wandering through their collection.

Wednesday - Tickets in hand ahead of time, we made the early trip to the Natural history musem and spent the day wandering its halls. After our fill of museum exhibits and crowds, we went back to the hotel to cap off the day with a viewing of “Night at the Museum” for a movie night in.

Thursday - A lovely sunny day, we explored the city, starting with Bryant park, Grand central Station, the Chrysler building, NY public library, Empire state building and a walk through Times Square.

Friday - We took a trip down to the financial district to see the 911 memorial, followed by a walk to wall street and the ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty. We capped off the day with lovely italian food at Eataly.
